Typeography
In this i like the different pt sizes used highlighting bigger words like "Starbucks" as it is the main focus of the campaign ad. i think i might uses something like this on my front cover.
I like how this uses different typefaces and styles to get it's point across. If u had more time in my project i might of tried something like this as it is more visually stimulating to the eye.

Serge Mendzhiyskogo
Serge Mendzhiyskogo is a Russian artist. He takes a load of photos of the same city and then cuts them into strips and puts them back together collage-style to get the very distinctive look in his pieces.
I really like Serge's work, it creates and abstract image of the same place giving it a different look and approach to it. I gave this ago for a loon skyline i chooses the London skyline as one of the advertising posters i looked at used an image of London.
This worked really well for me, I think I will use this as part of my leaflet and billboard to link them together. This is a really good way to distort an image and make it look more visually stimulating to the eye. The only down side of this would be it is time consuming and that it may not fit my work well but i am willing to take that risk and learn from this if it doesn't go the way I wished.

type for my leaflet
This is the information i will place in my leaflet, I didn't want to use too much as I thought people wouldn't want to read it.
Causes of pollution
Domestic waste.
Domestic households, industrial and agricultural practices produce waste water that can cause pollution of many lakes and rivers.
Agricultural waste.
Agricultural waste covers 76% of the uk with things such as slurries.
River/sea dumping.
Dumping waste in our rivers or seas causes water pollution, harms wild life and increases the risk of flooding.
What can you do ?
Don't leave taps running! Take showers not baths. This will stop water wastage.
Use eco-friendly house hold products.
Manage waste usefully. Don't dump waste in river's or ocean's.

mock folds
This is my gate fold mock up, I think this would be too simple to think of. Most leaflets use this fold so if i were to use this it wouldn't stand out and make people want to read it.
This is the tri fold as before i think this would look boring to read, as there is a lot of space it would have to have lot's of type and this may make people not want to read it (too much to read). This layout looks to plain and a lot like other folds I have seen.
I decided to try the accordion or z fold, I like this as it is different design from other i have seen. I think this wouldn't fit in someone's pocket very well so I don't think i will pick this.

I done this one myself as I wanted something I liked and would fit easily in some ones pocket, have just enough space for information (not to much) and maybe a couple of illustrations. With this fold I thought I could place an illustration on the front, some text on the inside. I could then use the large space in the centre for a poster making people want to keep it and not throw it away creating waste.

Looking into Leaflets
Here are the leaflets I looked at what I liked most from these that i will include in my design development is the Type they have used for the escape this is because it is big and eye catching almost looking 3D. I like the imagery in the butterfly one as it is abstract but conforms with what the leaflet is about. What I don't like is how the bird reserve have used shabby imagery, primary colours and text that is almost impossible to read from a distance, this leaflet looks rushed and no what I would want my final outcome to look at all like.
water pollution posters
I like this poster, I don't like the text being upside down. I really like the imagery used it matches the nature of what the poster is about and relates back to the text, it is also a very creative way to approach this issue and a good use of white space making the poster look clean (how water should be).
I might try this creative approach for my billboard.
This is a good artistic approach to a pollution poster, this catches the eye with the bright green showing out from the page. The text is clear and easy to read even in an unusual typeface making it eye catching and effective.
I really like the white space used in this. The text is bold and clear drawing you're eye first, explains the image you look at after. The imagery is smart and effective. It has a clear message and depicts this in a smart effective way.
I like how they have tried to show "dirty water" being leaked into our river. I like how the bucket is big emphasising the issue as if it is happening on a large scale. What I really like about this is not only does it show the polluted water being leaked into the river, is that the bucket look liked it has been dumped there. This is one of the effects of water pollution.
